As people are adjusting to watching the Liturgy in their homes right now, here are some ideas to help make your at-home Liturgical celebration a prayerful viewing time.
If your pets are going to disrupt your prayer time, you may want to consider putting them in another room for this short time period, or give them a treat or something to keep them occupied while you focus on the Liturgy.
The idea is to do whatever you feel you need to do in order to focus on the Liturgy in the same manner that you would if you were attending Mass in person.
One last reminder – since not all of us are able to physically receive the Eucharist right now, we can still pray in Spiritual Communion. Recite this prayer:
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
I hope these suggestions help you in your prayer time on Sundays or any day that you choose to watch the Liturgy from home until you are once again able to gather in Church for our Liturgical celebrations.

- Silence/unplug your telephone during the time that you are watching Mass, as you would if you were attending Mass. Putting away your phone during this time will help eliminate distractions.
- If you are physically able to do all the postures – sitting, standing, kneeling – continue to do these at home, even if you are the only one watching.
- Respond out loud to the prayers that belong to the people during the Liturgy. Sing along with the sung responses if they are familiar.
- You may want to set up a small altar facsimile near your television or computer – perhaps with a candle or a crucifix or any other symbols that help you to focus.
