LOST AND FOUND The school operates a lost and found. If your child has lost something, please check the lost and found or in the office. All articles of clothing, including shoes, boots, uniforms, and school materials should have the student's name on them. All articles remaining after the first semester and after the second semester will be disposed of. FIELD TRIPS All costs for a field trip are assumed by the class. Since the cost is computed on a per-child basis, there can be no refund for absentees. Most field trips begin and end at school and take place during the school day. Students wear uniforms on field trips unless they are of a picnic nature. Students are expected to take a bag lunch from school for field trips that last through the lunch hour. These are included in the weekly ticket if the student has purchased one and are available at the free or reduced price if the student is eligible. Parents who chaperone a field trip are welcome to order a bag lunch from school as well. Field trips are part of the curriculum and, as such, are not optional. ALL students are expected to attend. Students who have been suspended must have a parent chaperone for all subsequent field trips. CROSS-GRADED "FAMILY" PROGRAM St. Bernadette School participates in a "Family" program. Each "family" is composed of an 8th graders and students from all other grades evenly distributed. The families meet about twice monthly. They participate in various activities as a family. Some of these include choosing a patron saint and motto, developing a family coat of arms, sharing recess, sharing lunch together. The purpose of the program is to further develop community spirit. Older students become more aware of the younger ones and their needs. Younger students get to know some of those not in their own class. INSTRUMENTAL INSTRUCTION St. Bernadette School provides access to private instrumental lessons from an independent service provider for an additional fee. Information is provided on these optional services at the beginning of each school year. | ||||
