Library hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every school day. Each class has a scheduled time each week when they may come to the library to take out and read books for pleasure or class projects. Any class that misses its scheduled class due to assemblies, field trips, shortened day, or school closing can come during open library hours. Teachers will make arrangements with the librarian. Students may use the library at any time with permission of the teacher and the knowledge of the librarian.
Books are taken out for a period of one week and should be returned the following week. However, if books are not returned at the end of one week, they will automatically be renewed for an additional week. If books are not returned or renewed after the second week, a fine of $0.20 per school week will be charged. A reminder will be sent if a book or magazine is more than one week overdue. Fines for overdue books should be paid when the book is returned. All fines must be paid before the student's report card will be released each quarter.
We encourage everyone, parents also, to visit your library and READ!
If anyone would like to donate new or used books to the library, they would be appreciated. If the library cannot use the books, they will be sold at the annual book rummage sale in the Spring. Proceeds from the book rummage sale and overdue book fines will be used to purchase new books.
