St. Bernadette's Before and After School Care Program is designed to provide a safe and secure Christian environment with scheduled recreational and educational activities for school-aged children at a reasonable cost. Only students enrolled in St. Bernadette School are eligible to use the program. This program is directed and administered by qualified professional staff along with volunteers.
On January 24, 2006, the St. Bernadette School Before and After School Care Program received a six-month probationary license from the State of Wisconsin. When the six-month probationary period is up, a two-year license will be applied for.
Before school child care will not be available due to a bus schedule change. It is available for Junior Kindergarten students starting at 11:30 a.m. The afternoon program begins immediately after school and remains open until 6:00 p.m.
A snack and juice or milk are provided in the afternoon for children in attendance after 3:30 p.m. Those in the Before School Program do not receive breakfast or a snack. However, children are welcome to bring their own snack and/or juice or take part in the breakfast program at school.
The service is provided on half-days when school has early dismissal, but is not available on major holidays. Availability over Christmas and Spring breaks will be determined as the need exists. Daycare will be available on days that there is no school (during the school year) if at least five children are pre-registered. Any emergency closings of the school (i.e. snow closings) will also apply to St. Bernadette's Before and After School Care Program.
There is a $50.00 registration fee, per child, due before the start of participation.
The before-school care session is $3.00.
The after-school care is $3.00 per hour for the first child and $2.00 per hour for each additional child(ren). For those who pick up their child(ren) after 6:00 p.m. there is a $1.00 per minute per child fee for each minute following closing time.
