    ENROLLMENT AGES
A child entering first grade in September must be six years old on or before September 1 of the same year. A child entering Senior Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1 of the same year. A child entering Junior Kindergarten must be four years old before September 1 of the same year.

    ACCEPTANCE
Students are admitted to St. Bernadette School pending receipt of records from the previous school. A financial statement from all previous private schools attended verifying that any and all tuition and fees have been paid in full is required. Students are placed in the grade appropriate to results of academic testing. If some circumstance, e.g. learning disability or emotional disturbance, warrants a change in grade level or a need for assistance from outside the school resources, a conference will be required. Parents must act upon recommendations which result from such a conference. School Choice Program participants are accepted within established registration periods as seats are available.

    PROBATION
Students are admitted to St. Bernadette School on a one-year probationary basis. Parents, students, and staff will meet to determine continued enrollment after the first mid-quarter (early October). If it becomes apparent that either the school is unable to adequately meet the needs of the child or the child and/or parents fail to consistently abide by the policies of the school, enrollment will be terminated.

    NON-CATHOLIC STUDENTS
Non-Catholic students are welcome at St. Bernadette School. Because of the nature of a Catholic school, religion is taught daily as part of the curriculum. Students are expected to complete requirements for that subject. Catholic values are also incorporated into all other aspects of the curriculum. Students are expected to attend liturgy, to study Scripture, and to become involved in community service. Non-Catholic students are encouraged to participate in liturgy to the extent to which they are permitted by the Catholic Church and their own religion. However, all students must display an attitude of respect during liturgies.

Non-Catholic students may not receive Eucharist. Students who are interested in seeking membership in the Catholic Faith are nurtured and receive the appropriate counseling. However, parental approval and support is required. It is the responsibility of the parents to discuss these policies with their child/children.

    TRANSFERS/WITHDRAWALS
Any family having paid school fees who withdraws a child from school from the time two weeks before the first day of student attendance to the last day of student attendance for the first semester shall be responsible for one-half of the total fees due for the year. Withdrawal after the first student attendance day of the second semester shall result in the family being responsible for fees for the total year.
